We are excited to offer the winter sports program at CBMS for the 2025/26 school year. All students will be able to participate in an outdoor recreational activity offsite that will occur during school hours.
LOCATION: Sugarbush Mountain Resort, Waitsfield, VT. New for 25/26: we will be at Mt Ellen.
DATES: Fridays. 2026 dates: Jan. 16, 23, 30; Feb. 6, 13; Mar. 6. Make up date: Mar. 13.
TIMES: Grades 5 and 6 will be on the mountain from 9:40a - 12:10p. Grades 7 and 8 will be on the mountain from 10:50a - 1:30p. All students will be eating lunch at Sugarbush (bagged school lunch or home lunch).
EQUIPMENT DROP-OFF/PICK-UP: If your student is bringing their own equipment, drop-off is from 7:30a - 8:20a. (You can drop off earlier, but we will not be there until 7:30a.) Equipment will be available for pick-up starting at 2:30p. The drop-off/pick-up location is near the gym - follow the signs.
LUNCH: All students will eat lunch at Sugarbush in the Mt Ellen Lodge. They will be able to bring a home or school-provided bag lunch. It is also recommended that volunteers bring a lunch so you will be able to stay with the group.
ACTIVITIES: Downhill skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing is at Sugarbush.
EQUIPMENT RENTALS: Day-of ski and snowboard rentals will be available at Sugarbush for students who need equipment. Students who need snowshoes will be able to borrow a pair from the school. Helmets are required for all students and volunteers who are skiing and riding.
CLOTHING: Review the recommended clothing list so your student is warm and comfortable at the mountain or at the rink.
PRICE: The price per student for the 2025/26 school year is $80. This pays for transportation to and from the mountain for 6 sessions. If you are unable to donate, we have scholarships available through the Eli Brookens Memorial Fund. This program is available to all students regardless of their ability to pay.
ADAPTIVE PROGRAMMING: If your students needs additional support to get on to the slopes, contact us. We want all students to have the opportunity to participate.
VOLUNTEERS: It will take the entire school community to help make this happen. Consider volunteering on or off the mountain.
