Plat of the Town of West Field

On May 6th 1834 Asa Bales, Simon Moon and Ambrose Osborne officially founded the Town of West Field by registering their Plat map with the Hamilton County Justice of the Peace Benjamin Wheeler. The land north of Main Street belonged to Asa Bales. The land on the south west belonged to Simon Moon and the land to the south east to Ambrose Osborne.

The text reads:

The Town of Westfield in Hamilton county is laid out in the above plan, the Streets and Alleys and the Width, respectively marked in the Plat. Each lot is eighty two feet 6 inches in front and Extends back one hundred and fifty Six feet 9 inches.

The State of Indiana Hamilton County:
Before me the undersigned an acting Justive of the Peace within and for Said County Personally come Ambrose Osborn, Simon Moon and Asa Bales and acknowledge the written to be a correct Plat and reference of teh Town of West field by them Laid out in Said County of Hamilton. In Testimony where of I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Sixth day of May in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty four.
