Once upon a time, the boys’ washroom of a primary school suffered from permanent bad odour, that permeated throughout the school.
WST investigated the issue, examining the existing trough and drainage system. We established the cause of the odour was bacteria breeding within the system. The bacteria produced was hardened to such an extent that it was impossible to remove.
The Cost Benefit Analysis of installing P.pod
WST recommended the installation of our P.pod waterless urinal technology which breaks down the bacteria and neutralises odours. This installation included replacing the troughs with urinals. The school has WST installed 3 x P.pod devices in a staged process:
- Deep Clean the toilet system.
- Three separate boys toilets troughs converted to 10 urinals.
- Supply bespoke Germ Warfare spray for daily maintenance.
The odour problem was eliminated and the school saved £4,500 in water and drainage charges by installing P.pod from WST.
