District News:

IN NEED OF MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES? AVAILABLE TO ALL PAXTON RESIDENTS:

The William James INTERFACE Referral Service is a mental health and wellness referral Helpline available Monday through Friday, 9 am-5 pm, at 888-244-6843 (toll free). This is a free, confidential referral service for individuals across the lifespan living in participating communities.  The list of participating communities can be found on Communities Tab above. Callers, from participating communities, are matched with licensed mental health providers from our extensive database, on average, within 2 weeks of their call to INTERFACE. Each referral best meets the location, insurance, and specialty needs of the caller.

INTERFACE Referral Service also provides Guides, available for all visitors to our website, which can be found on the Guides Tab above, which are helpful when navigating the mental health system.

Additionally, William James INTERFACE Referral Service supports the work of organizations across the state, including the Suffolk and Norfolk Juvenile Court Clinics, the Department of Disabled Persons Protection Commision's Sexual Assault Response Unit and 3 state initiatives:  Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Project (MCPAP), MCPAP for Moms and the Massachusetts Consultation Service for Treatment of Addiction and Pain (MCSTAP).

Our goal is to promote independence, accountability, and time managment skills within our students.  While this is our goal in preparing our students for high school, I believe that it is the parent's right to be fully involved in continuing to nurture these skills at home. For this reason our middle school teachers have gotten together and are putting their homework not only on their individual websites, but also in a central location. The goal of this is not to take the place of students independently utilizing their agendas - it is meant to be used by parents to verify that what is in their student's agenda is correct. In my "Everything Homework" tab you will find links to 6th-8th grade assignments!
