Broadcast Media 2024- 2025
Course Description:
Introduction to Broadcast Media is a project-based, collaborative course designed to introduce students to the principles and techniques of media production, videography, & journalism. Students will learn the fundamentals of video production as well as the process of publishing digital media including: planning, design, audio/video recording and digital editing. Students will apply learning as they develop products to be showcased in our school-wide media outlets. Upon completion of the course, students will have a portfolio of authentic work and a deeper understanding of how digital media can be implemented to distribute information and build community engagement.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, students will be expected to:
Understand, identify and apply the elements and principles of design to assigned topics in select media areas.
Demonstrate basic application of skills in a variety digital programs.
Understand and engage in the process of creative problem solving, developing multiple ideas and solutions for any given assignment.
Identify audiences and create content that effectively communicates.
Reflect on the influence of digital art forms in present day society including digital citizenship.
