I have worked at our school for 13 years, I have also taught kindergarten at WLES. I have 2 kids Jacob which is a 11th grader and Megan, who is a 8th grader. They both attend TSC schools. I did not originally go to college to become a PE teacher, after working for a few years I decided teaching would be a good fit for me. I decided to be a PE teacher because being physically active is a passion of mine.
I never played organized high school sports.
I broke my ankle in college playing football with friends.
I met my wife in high school.
My wife is an art teacher at Harrison High School
I have lived my whole life in Lafayette.
My favorite physical activities to do in my free time are: Mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, running, and playing my Dad tennis.
I never ran before teaching here WLIS/Happy Hollow. I was inspired by my student to see how well I could run, I haven’t stopped since.
I signed up to run the 2020 mini marathon (13.1 Miles) in Indy. Before signing up my longest run ever was 7 miles.
I have spent over 100 nights camping in a tent.
I am from Oxford, IN and graduated from Benton Central High School, Purdue University, and Ball State University.
This is my third year teaching P.E. at WLIS!
I taught first grade for 6 years and second grade for 4 years. I have been the head softball coach at WLHS for 12 years. I have also coached volleyball and basketball at WL.
My husband, Shane, teaches P.E. and Health at WLHS, is the assistant Athletic Director, and is the football coach.
I have 2 kids, Ailyn-8 and Austin-5. Ailyn loves crafting, gymnastics, and softball! Austin loves basketball, football, and baseball!
I have a strong passion for sports. I played volleyball, basketball, and softball in high school.
My goal for WLIS P.E. is to introduce as many sports and physical activities so that whether you are an athlete or not, you can find something you enjoy doing to stay active.
