ACT Work Keys

ACT WorkKeys is a nationally recognized assessment tool that employers use to match your skill set to job openings they have in their company.

As a Career and Technical Education (CTE) concentrator, you will earn the right to take the WorkKeys assessment. In order to become a CTE concentrator, you must take 4 classes in a CTE pathway, one of those being a Level II class, between your freshman year and your senior year. See the page on Fike CTE Pathways for more information on the different pathways offered at Fike.

WorkKeys assesses your knowledge in 3 different areas, Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Locating Information. Each assessment is 55 minutes long with 33 - 38 questions. You will receive a score for each assessment.

The Career Readiness Certificate will be awarded if you achieve the following level on all 3 assessments.

Platinum level - 6 or above

Gold level - 5 or above

Silver level - 4 or above

Bronze level - 3 or above

After you have taken the test you can use the results to help identify any deficiencies you may have. Use this link http://profiles.keytrain.com/profile_search/?_ga=1.1895283.350423232.1402278910 to identify potential careers you are interested in to see what level score is required in each of the three assessment areas. You will then be able to see if you have any deficiencies and work to correct them.

Once you receive your Career Readiness Certificate you will need to share that information with a potential employer. In order to protect your privacy, ACT does not share any information about your scores until you authorize them to. This is the link for information on sharing your CRC www.act.org/certificate/order.html. In order to share your certificate, you must first create a new account with a valid email address. Do not use the User ID or Password you used for the testing site.

Once you have shared your CRC results, you should provide WorkKeys information on resumes and applications. You may also create a free link to an URL for employers to access certificate details.
