Career planning includes self-awareness, career exploration, and career skill building (resume writing, job search strategies, networking and interviewing). The primary focus is for you to discover your interests, skills and abilities. Then, start to develop educational goals and personal career plans.
Visit Mrs. Hall in the Media Center to complete an interest inventory and begin exploring career possibilities along with Career and Technical Education pathways relative to your careers of interest.

To access your Career Cruising student account, log in with your personal username and password. Your username is the prefix “NC-” plus your Student ID (e.g. NC-1234567), and your portfolio password is your birth date in mmddyyyy format (e.g. August 25, 1990 would be typed in as 08251990). The first time you login, the system will as you to change your password. If you forget it, you can recover it by indicating that you have lost your password, and it will be emailed to you. Note: Use your gmail email address when setting up your account.

The CFNC site offers many different resources including online career assessments. Students can create their own accounts. Once you have an account, sign in and hover over "Plan" (orange bar near the top of the page) and choose "For a Career." Choose "Learn About Yourself". A page with several assessments will come up. It is suggested that you start with the "Interest Profiler," then you can complete the other assessments there.
