Subject: Superintendent Search Timeline and Interview Question Outreach

Dear Mount Greylock Community,

The School Committee would like to share our Superintendent search timeline and request community input on the Superintendent search questions and qualifications.

On Friday, July 24th at 12:00pm we will be holding a School Committee meeting to discuss and select interview questions. The School Committee is asking community members to submit their own questions and/or qualifying characteristics for the candidates. These will be brought forward during the above-mentioned school committee meeting. We ask that all submissions be sent to the School Committee chair: cconry@mgrhs.org by Friday, July 24th at 8:00am.

MASC* (Massachusetts Association of School Committees) will be screening all applicants for the position and will bring forward up to 5 of the most qualified candidates. These finalists will be announced during the School Committee meeting on July 29th at 6:00pm (rescheduled from July 30th). At this meeting, we will also receive and update on the re-opening plans from interim Superintendent, Rob Putnam.

On July 30th and July 31st, we will hold several 30-minute virtual “Meet & Greet” events during which we invite members of the Mount Greylock community to casually talk with the candidates prior to their interviews. After these informal gatherings, the School Committee will interview the candidates for approximately 60-75 minutes. All interviews will be virtual and open to the public. We will post a schedule with links on the district meeting calendar.

On July 31st, the School Committee will schedule a final meeting to deliberate in executive session and return to open session to announce/vote for the new Superintendent.

We truly look forward to working together as a community in this process. Thank you for contributing to our slate of questions, which will help us select not only the most qualified candidate, but the candidate that best fits our wonderful district.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Christina Conry, Chair

Mount Greylock Regional School District School Committee
