Assessing

May & June sales reports attached

As planned, we converted to a new software platform earlier this summer. Not without some bumps in the road and knowing that usually moving from one assessing package to another generates some outlier properties (recall that at it's most basic an assessed value of a property is the sum of it's component parts -- every major feature, whether it's a basement, a bathroom, etc. has an individual value which is then added up to yield a total value.) The hope in a conversion is that the troubleshooting of outliers yields statistically appropriate values across representative samples so that the entirety of data does not need to be reverified. The state has a review process for this and makes the determination. We've passed. See below:

Dear Williamstown Assessors,

Regarding your FY 2021 recent desktop (and field) review for your CAMA conversion to Patriot AssessPro software, we are approving your FY 2021 CAMA data.

Your BLA advisor, Joseph Barbieri, conducted a data quality review of a random sample of properties from all classes to verify the accuracy of the converted data. Based on the sample, the desk review has been successfully completed and for FY2021, has served as an effective alternative to a full field review.

We commend you and staff for their hard work and diligence in this process.

Thank you and stay safe in the upcoming cycle,

Joanne Graziano, AAS

Chief, Bureau of Local Assessment
