Transportation and Climate Change Workshops

Post date: Jul 16, 2019 2:13:55 PM

The Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs, MassDEP, and MassDOT invite you to participate in an opportunity to address two of our greatest challenges together – transportation and climate change.

At this workshop we will talk about how states across the northeast are working together to develop a regional policy to fight climate change and improve transportation. The goal is to deliver a better, cleaner transportation system that benefits all our communities, while reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution across the region. And, in particular, to improve communities who are underserved by current transportation options and disproportionately burdened by pollution.

Massachusetts state agencies are looking for your input on how to accomplish these goals through a program that would cap and reduce transportation emissions and invest proceeds from the program into low-carbon, more resilient transportation infrastructure.

There are three scheduled workshops so far, with three additional meetings to-be scheduled soon in Metro-Boston, Pioneer Valley, and the South Coast.
