The AARP Tax Aide program, a free service to assist individuals of moderate income to complete and file their 2018 state and federal income taxes start the new season on Tuesday evening, February 5th. Available slots are quickly filling, there is no availability in February, three openings in March are currently available and April is also filling fast. Best bet for an early evening slot is April but act quickly. Sessions with Tax Aides are approximately one hour in length, reservations are necessary, we cannot accommodate walk in requests. Contact the COA at the Harper Center at 458.8250 for information or to reserve a time.

About a year ago,Medicare began replacing Medicare cards for recipients with new cards not incorporating their Social Security number. Everyone should have received their new Medicare card by now. Individuals who have not received a card should confirm their current residential address with the Social Security office. Other people have accidentally thrown their new cards away because the envelope did not have Medicare information on it.

No worries. A new Medicare card can be ordered by calling Medicare at 800.633.4227 or set up an account at MyMedicare.gov to retrieve a copy of it.

If all else fails, call the COA at 458.8250 and we'll be glad to help.
