Select Board

Town of Williamstown

31 North Street

Williamstown, MA 01267

Dear Select Board:

The ten member Berkshire Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) includes one representative from each of four subregions in the County. In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding for the MPO, representatives of the towns that comprise each subregion meet every other year to designate one select board member from one town to act as the MPO representative and another select board member, from a different town, to act as the MPO alternate. At present, Andy Hogeland of Williamstown is the delegate and John Duval of Adams is the alternate representative for the North subregion. Current designees are eligible to serve new terms on the MPO, but must be re-elected.

We have scheduled a North subregional caucus for Monday, September 10th at 5:30 p.m. at the North Adams City Hall, Room 202. We would like a representative from each of the six towns (Adams, Clarksburg, Florida, New Ashford, Savoy and Williamstown) to be present for this meeting. The town representative for this meeting does not have to be an elected official, but they should be empowered to act on behalf of the Select Board at this meeting. Meeting representatives should be prepared to determine who will be the subregion’s representative and alternate to the MPO.

Please let me know who will be representing your select board as soon as possible. You can contact me via email at Ckus@berkshireplanning.org phone at 442-1521, ext. 20. We look forward to the meeting on September 10th.

Sincerely,

Clete Kus, AICP

Recommend appointing Andy Hogeland to continue to represent Williamstown.
