BUILDING

Framing is just beginning to wrap up on the new CDE dormitory. Plan review meetings are ongoing for the North Science Building and progress is continuing on getting the South Building to completion and foundations are underway at the new Williams Inn. The department recently received an application for a $3.8 million single family home on South Street.

HEALTH

The Board of Health has issued a Tobacco Products Retailer permit to the "Gold Leaf Shop" which will be located in the Colonial Plaza. This is the last of the 7 permits for tobacco retailers allowed in the Town of Williamstown

LAND USE

The Planning Board continues its work on re zoning a section of the Cole Avenue neighborhood to increase housing. A public hearing on the proposal is tentatively scheduled for April 10.

The ZBA meets this week and will hear petitions for a new police station and for modifications to the proposed North Building of the Williams Science Center.

The town has also awarded a grant from the Commonweath's Office on Disabilities to complete an ADA Self Evaluation to the UMass Donahue Institute. Completion of this document is required to receive final approval of the town's Open Space and Recreation Plan.
