On Friday October 13, Carole DeMayo will speak at the Harper Center on the topic of the St Patrick and Raphael food pantry. The food pantry is a lively entity which provides food food local residents who may need just a little lift to get by. She also collects and delivers gently used furniture on a small scale as well. Carole speaks at 12:30 and will be preceded by a pizza luncheon at noon. Contact the COA at 458.8250 for information.

The COA/ Reading Buddies program enters its 17th year with the opening session on October 13. The program connects children from Erin Pendel's Kindergarten class with Williamstown elders for a book and a bit of fun away from the classroom. The Buddies were started in 2000 by Sarah Madden and Brian O'Grady and has rolled along through the years. Some of our first buddies class (they were third graders then as Sarah taught the third Grade), are likely finished with Grad School now...

The annual "Words are Wonderful" parade along Church Street and through the friendly confines of the Harper Center will be on Wednesday October 18th at 9:00. A host of ghosts, ghouls, demons, star athletes and superheros will march in one door and out the other as the entire complement of the WES goes on parade. Local seniors, suitably attired, greet them during the pass through. Got kids in school? Come by and watch!
