Butterfly Walk at the Spruces
Join local naturalists Pamela Weatherbee and Leslie Reed-Evans at the Spruces in Williamstown on Saturday August 19th beginning at 1:30 PM to learn about butterflies. These lovely insects are also important pollinators, and are easy to attract to your yard and garden. Participants will learn how to identify the variety of butterflies found in the area. The Spruces has a great variety of wildflowers to attract butterflies, which are most active during warm weather. Sun protection is advised.
The former mobile home park is now owned by the town, and open to the public for enjoyment of nature and passive recreation.
The program is open to the public and free of charge, and is suitable for all ages. Rain date is 1:30 PM Sunday August 20.
The Spruces is located on the north side Route 2 east of Williamstown. The entrance is marked by two white stone lions. Meet in the parking area to the right of the first intersection. For more information email butterfly@williamstownma.gov.
