Power purchase - aggregation

We participate in a regional aggregation program for purchasing power through Hampshire Energy. This program provides price stability for residents. While residents are automatically enrolled in the program, they can choose to opt out of this group, returning to National Grid or purchasing power from another provider. Our option is billed along with a resident's National Grid bill, so in some cases it may even go unnoticed (the bill will note Hampshire Power as the provider.) The aggregation program is managed through Hampshire Power and the actual plan is approved through Department of Public Utilities. (Noted because in this format, we are committed to the group and cannot act as our own "free agents", without leaving the group and having another agreement approved by the DPU.)

Our current contract expires at the end of October. So, effective November 1, the aggregation's provider will be via Public Power’s 36-month term for a 100% Green National Wind product @ $0.10708 per kWh. Participating customers will continue to see Hampshire Power on their bills.

Because the goal of the aggregation group is price predictability, individual months may provide lower pricing elsewhere -- we are not the guarantor of lowest possible pricing. With some amount of future uncertainty in the energy markets, this gives us a solid predictable number for residents.
