Matter of Balance, an award winning program whose focus is to help participants develop strategies to avoid falling, returns to the Harper Center on Thursday September 7. The program runs through eight weeks culminating at the end of October and is free to all. MOB teaches exercise routines to help build better balance and offers helpful environmental hints to avoid falling at home. Our facilitators will be Bret Beattie And Amanda Chilson from the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition. For further information or to register for the series, contact the COA at 458.8250.

A new 2017 Ford van has arrived at the BRTA facility in Pittsfield and will delivered to the COA sometime within the next week. The van provides transportation to Williamstown seniors who lack other means to a ride. Its primary focus is life support trips such as medical appointments and food shopping but we manage to get in a few trips to the hairdresser as well...

This vehicle replaces one lost in an accident in 2015 and comes to Williamstown following a lengthy grant application and selection process begun by Brian OGrady in the fall of 2015. Pending final insurance paperwork shuffling, the new van should be in town by the end of the week. Watch for it!
