Youlin Shi, Tai Chi instructor at the Harper center will offer a cook along style seminar on Chinese cooking at the Harper Center at noon on Friday February 17th. Youlin is a native of Beijing and she offers a winter study seminar on the subject annually in January at MCLA. She will demonstrate 3 traditional Chinese dishes which can be prepared at home-eggrolls, potato and eggs soup and stir fry with garlic and oil. The session is limited to 20 people, bring your cutting utensils with you!

The Aging Mastery Program, AMP, is an award winning program developed by the National Council on Aging and is now being offered by the Williamstown Council on Aging for the fourth time at the Harper Center. The goal of the program is to empower older adults to make and maintain small but impactful changes in health behaviors. Classes exploring sleep quality, physical activity, financial fitness and more are available in this 10 week series beginning Thursday March 16 and running through May 18. Classes are 1.5 hours in duration, begin at 1:00 and healthy snacks are served. AMP is open to individuals aged 50 and older and the program is free. Contact the COA at 458.8250 for information.

Reservations for the 2017 AARP Tax Aide season at the Harper Center are closed, all available appointments are booked for the year. There is no additional information about additional sessions being established at this moment. Individuals who need to complete and file their 2016 taxes can contact the North Adams COA at 662.3125 or the Adams COA at 743.8333 for information regarding availability at their sites.

Karyn O’Toole hosts the mid-Winter tea at the Harper Center on Friday February 24th at 1:00. A selection of teas, delicious finger sandwiches and desserts will be on the menu, reservations are requested and can be made by calling the COA office at 458.8250.
