In 2016-17, the state of Nebraska began requiring all Juniors to take the ACT.
Students scoring proficient or above in understanding complex texts was 43% in 2016-17. This decreased to 34% in 2017-18, which may be attributed to a small class size of 18 students. In 2018-19, a large improvement was achieved with 61% of students proficient or above. (see Table 1.7)
Overall, WHPS students achieved an average composite score higher than the state average in all three years since the Juniors have been required to test.
