New to WHS?

Welcome to Wellesley High School.

Are you considering attending WHS?

If you have yet to visit the school, you can watch this introductory virtual tour given by members of the New Student Ambassadors.

Tours for prospective families & students are available at 2:45pm, immediately after school dismissal. New Student Ambassadors meet families in the Main Office and guide them through the school while offering the student perspective. If you would like a tour, please contact Interim Director of Student Counseling, Margaret Walendin. WHS does not provide the opportunity for prospective students to "shadow" a current student for a day.

Once you decide your student will attend WHS, your first step is to register your student at the Central Administration Office with the Registrar.  Please make sure you have an official copy of your transcript as well as any MCAS scores if you have previously been enrolled in another Massachusetts public school. Once cleared through Central Office your student's file will come to the High School and be assigned a House and School Counselor. School Counselors are available to meet with students and families only after the registration process is complete.

In advance of meeting with your School Counselor we encourage you to check out this helpful New Student & Parent Help Sheet. Many of your questions will be answered on how to set up a lunch account, transportation, etc. We also encourage you to review the Program of Studies, on the WHS website, for courses your student would like to consider registering for. This will expedite your appointment.

New families may also find this helpful guide developed by the Parent Advisory Board to assist in the transition to WHS. Our New Student Ambassadors also wanted to share their tips on how to make your transition to WHS as smooth as possible.

Are you a new Grade 10, 11 or 12 student? Please complete this form so we can match you with a New Student Ambassador mentor to support your transition to WHS.

Technology:

New Families who register will receive an email from the Technology Department instructing you to set up a Powerschool Account. Powerschool is our software to access student schedules and grades. Wellesley Bring your Own Laptop Program (BYOL) information website can be found at: 1:1 Laptop Program
