3D Model: From the 3 Little Pigs to Frank Lloyd Wright

Laser tag room!!

3D Model

As one of the many steps in creating your dream house, you had to draw a floor plan. Now, you must make a model of your dream house, or one room in your dream house. You can make it with ANY material. You can make it with a shoebox, or a box made to different proportions. ANYTHING YOU CAN FIND AT HOME! (Go shopping at home before you go out and get anything. Use as many recycled materials as you can find.) Other materials students have used in the past include pipe cleaners, cardboard, foam board, toothpicks, construction paper, rubber bands, oak tag, magic markers, tissue paper, plastic wrap, sticks, and many other items.

Please try not to make your model any bigger than about 24 inches by 12 inches. There won't be enough room to fit everyone's work if you go any bigger than that. (If you have any questions, please email me.) It is also okay to get some help from someone at home for this part of the project. Until now, you have done most of the parts of the project yourself. I want to be clear that you don't HAVE to have help, but if someone at home wants to help (Exacto knife cut, hot glue gun, etc.), that is fine. This part of the project is NOT being scored with a rubric, just a check that it is completed. HAVE FUN WITH IT!!! BE CREATIVE!!!

I have shown students in class some pictures of 3D models from previous classes. There are some additional samples below. These are just examples, but they give students a starting place if they get stuck!

Good luck!! I can't wait to see your models. Remember, they're due, Thursday, October 17th!
