Recognition and understanding of vocabulary words is vital to success in my science classroom, because of this every Monday is designated to vocabulary related assignments and activities.
The following Vocabulary Lists are worth 100 points (except for the practice one which will be worth only 50). These assignments are mandatory. Students can only earn all points by turning the assignment in on time and complete. Additional points are lost for how late the assignment is. However, after the due date, all students are required to attend Lunchtime makeup sessions in my room until the vocabulary assignment is completed. If they fail to report for their makeup session they may receive a pass entry for poor behavior.

Vocabulary Format
For each word the student must do 4 things 1) write down the vocabulary word with the correct spelling, 2) define the word from the glossary of Discovery Education, 3) draw a picture illustrating what it looks like or what it can do - this will help you understand the meaning better, 4) write a sentence using the word correctly
