Students are given 3 different colored dividers to help organize their ScienceNotebooks. These dividers are used to separate all their Science papers into specific categories. Below you will find a description of how this is set up.
Blue Divider
Titled: Rules and Procedures
Behind this divider students will place those papers that have to do with the rules and procedures of the class. Examples would include the Class Syllabus and the Lab Safety Contract. In addition, any topics that will be used repeatedly during the year in either the classroom or the lab will belong here as well. Examples would include Metric conversions and names of lab equipment and their function.
Orange Divider
Titled :Assessments (include tests, quizzes, labs and projects)
All labs, quizzes, or tests that have been redone (or not), studyguides, and vocabulary assignments should be placed behind this divider. They should be studied periodically to prepare for the semester tests. (End of Course Assessments)
Pink Divider
Titled: Classwork (include handouts, notes, and daily work)
All classroom notes, movie notes, and any other handouts or daily work should be kept here for easy access, and to be used on the many open notebook quizzes.
Any Daily quizzes and most weekly quizzes are open notebook. If students have a well organized notebook they will have success on these quizzes.
