Per administration guidance, there will be no final exams.
Logistically, any additional numerical grades will be entered in the Q3 grade. This Q3 grade will not go down as a result of any additional grades. If a grade would result in the Q3 grade lowering, that grade will be marked excused instead.
The Q3 numerical grade will have 4 additional numeric grades, one for the Prezi project already in progress, and 3 additional grades. Here are the details on each of these.
In summary, there will be a ½ test grade (the Prezi project), a quiz grade (based on the upcoming video lectures), and 2 “other” grades (based on completion of the two, previously assigned Khan Academy quizzes). The Prezi project and the 2 Khan quizzes are due Friday, May 29. The current plan for the video lecture quiz is June 2.
These additional grades will only be entered if they improve the current Q3 grade. If any of these items are not completed, they will be marked excused and will not impact your Q3 grade. Additionally, senior grade plans have not changed from what was communicated several weeks ago. This plan affects only grades 9-11.
The lecture videos are available in Canvas.
Calculus BC will continue to provide students an AP-level study of College Board recommended topics in preparation for the College Board AP Calculus BC exam. In 4th quarter we will continue our study of Infinite Series, Power Series and Taylor Series that will be covered on the AP exam. After approximately May 15th, additional topics may include extended Power and Taylor series concepts, a study of the 3-Dimensional coordinate plane, Vectors in Space and Matrices.
Our main goal is for students to engage in meaningful mathematics during this time and demonstrate growth and appropriate mastery of assigned content.
All video class meetings and office hours will be conducted using Google Meet and will be accessed the same way.
Joincode: the join code was sent to everyone's school email
You must be logged into your WakeID to access the video meetings.
Mr. Wyatt's Office Hours: Monday – Thursday 1:00-2:00 PM and Friday 9:00-10:00AM
This time is intended to be one-on-one time with your teacher. These hours will be conducted using Google Meet and the same join code as the class sessions.
Students must monitor College Board and follow their instructions for registering for the exam.
Students should have joined the Khan Academy and AP Classroom courses created by their teacher.
Students need to check their email and Remind texts daily for class content and notifications. You are also able to access Mrs. Kovalaske's Canvas.
Students need to view assigned notes and/or videos prior to class meeting time. Class time will be spent on answering clarifying questions and reinforcement of content.
Attendance will be tracked.
Students will engage in appropriate virtual meeting behavior (be dressed appropriately, mute your microphone unless speaking, no side chats . . .)
Respect everyone's time. Use the scheduled class times and office hours to communicate with your teachers.

College Board has indicted the AP Exams will not cover the entire course curriculum. Their news releases indicate which topics will and will not be covered on the exam. Their description uses the units as described in their course description. These unit numbers closely match Green Hopes, but are not an exact match.
Based on the information released by College Board, the BC exam will cover everything Green Hope covered in the fall AB course and the differential equations material we recently finished in BC. Polar, vectors, and parametrics are NOT on the exam according to College Board.
The exam's coverage of series is mixed. This will complicate matters a bit because we have only covered a part of series. According to College Board, the following series topics we have covered and will be covered on the Exam:
The following series topics we have not yet covered but will be on the exam. Notes for these topics are below on this page.
The AP Exam will cover all material from AB as well as select BC topics as highlighted above. Here is a detailed study guide that includes the AB material. Resources for the AB topics are available on their respective pages on this website.
The following notes are the series topics already covered in class and the additional series topics listed above that will also be on the exam. Notes related to topics not on the exam are not included. Some of the notes may be difficult to follow because they may reference tests and concepts covered in topics not be tested or included here. For now, do the best you can.
AP Classroom has resources to help you prepare for the AP Exam. I have turned on all of the relevent checkpoint quizzes for you to check your progress.
While most of the checkpoint questions are multiple choice, the exam is likely to be all free response. But the checkpoints can still be used to assess your progress.
As of this writing (3/23/20) the checkpoint quizzes for the series section still contains questions that will not be assessed on the exam. The following questions are the relevant questions you will want to do:
