Twinkle (All variations & theme)

1. Attach shoulder rest

2. Standing rest position

3. Hold violin without bow.

4. Identify the strings! Eddie Ate Donuts, Good! (highest in pitch to lowest in pitch)

5. Brilliant bow hold

6. Bow lifts! Holding bow vertically throughout, lift it slowly above your head and bring it down to your waist. Elbow, shoulder and wrist should move and bow hold should remain brilliant!

7. Sing "Pepperoni Pizza" and do bow lifts or air bow along with the recording. Slow down the recording as necessary. Sing and do bow lifts or air bow with all the other variations and the theme as well. Make up your own words!

8. Holding violin correctly and with a brilliant bow hold, play "Pepperoni Pizza" on open E, open A or both! Play all of the variations on open E, open A or both.

9. Left hand. Straight, relaxed with a tunnel! Side of index finger and thumb gently touch neck of violin.

HOW TO LEARN NEW SONGS

1. Listen

2. Sing along (say do)

3. Air bow and sing on do

4. Air bow and say fingering (1, 2, 3, 0)

5. Play!

CORRECT PLAYING POSITION AND TECHNIQUE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SPEED!
