Safe Search

Overview:

Our web filter has a feature that prevents users from viewing search results unless the strict safe search option is set in their browsers. The strict safe search setting is used by search providers to prevent explicit content from appearing in search results. This is a best-effort setting and is not guaranteed by the search providers to work with every website.

If the strictest safe search option is not set in the browser, you will see a block page instructing you to change the setting and will also provide a link to access the settings page. After the browser setting has been set to strict safe search, you will be able to view search results again. Note that the safe search setting is done in the browser, but it is actually a search provider setting and a browser setting. Each browser used will need to be set to strict safe search. If you log in to the search provider site and set the strict safe search option, the setting is saved in your account and will be set regardless of the computer you use as long as you log in to the given search provider site.
