Why learn Spanish Now?

Language learning encourages students to cultivate abstract thinking and intellectual flexibility. You learn to problem-solve without giving-in to frustration. You learn how to be confused without becoming passive and how to be independent and receptive learners.

It takes curiosity and courage to learn a new language. Beginning Spanish students are introduced to language-learning as a practice, a discipline, and an art. As a result, you can become receptive to new and challenging concepts in all aspects of your life.

By 2050, the US may have more Spanish speakers than any other country in the world. The result will be a more diverse and competitive workplace and academic environment. Spanish language proficiency will be increasingly beneficial and ultimately necessary in some fields.

Auditory comprehension

One of the most difficult things to learn with a new language is how to hear where one word ends and another begins. With this first video, students listened to the song and tried to pick out words.
