How To Read My Paycheck
Not sure what all those categories are on your paycheck? Look here:
CONTRACT – Your salary based on the contract.
CLASSCVR – Class coverage for when you sub for someone. The rate is $35.
COCURR – Your co-curricular stipend according to the contract.
CSE MTG – If you attend a CSE during your prep, lunch or team meeting period. The rate is $35.
PROF DEV – After hours workshops (ex: iPad camp, e65 training) The rate is $35/hr.
FICA – Social Security
FEDERAL – taxes
CITY – If you live in New York City or Yonkers, they deduct city taxes.
TSA –FIDL – Tax Sheltered Annuity contribution (403 (b) retirement). Mine says FIDL because I use Fidelity.
NY TCHS – Health Care Contribution. S - single plan. If you have the family plan it will say NY TCHF. BOTCH FAM indicates a buy out and LONG is longevity.
MEDI – Medicare
STATE – taxes
MEDSPND – Cafeteria 125 Flex Plan deduction (your money is withdrawn pre-taxes).
VOTECOPE - Helps to fund lobbying efforts by NYSUT to protect your pensions, your benefits, your tenure, your bargaining rights, and your job. The VTA encourages everyone to consider increasing their contribution to $5.00/pay period or more if you can.
UNIONDUE – deductions start second pay period in November for 11 pay periods.
