I'm Jonathan Battista, and I've had the privilege of being part of the Valhalla School District since 2003. I began my journey as a classroom aide and, shortly after, transitioned into the role of a Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade classroom teacher. In 2015, I took on the position of Technology STEAM Teacher for grades K-2, which has been both fulfilling and inspiring.

My role allows me to seamlessly integrate technology and the principles of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) into the curriculum, creating an engaging learning experience for our young students. Witnessing their enthusiasm and creativity as they embrace technology has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

Beyond the classroom, I'm an active member of the Valhalla Teachers Union. Advocating for the rights and well-being of my fellow educators in the district is a cause close to my heart. With over a decade of experience in the Union, I'm dedicated to contributing my insights to help shape the future of education.

Outside of school, I have a passion for sports, coaching, and staying physically active. I'm a proud parent of three children—Makayla, 13; Mason, 11; and Maddox, 6. My wife, Andrea, is a pre-k teacher and a former member of the Valhalla School District community. During the summer months, I serve as the director of the Mount Pleasant Town pool. It's a rewarding experience to have the opportunity to hire past students as employees and witness their growth as they take on new challenges and responsibilities.

My unwavering commitment to education, technology integration, and advocacy for teachers has earned me the respect of the Valhalla School District community. I take pride in the lasting impact I've made on the lives of students and colleagues, and I eagerly look forward to continuing to nurture a brighter future for education in our community.
