Welcome!!
This course is designed to give you the information you need to improve your muscular strength, power and endurance.
You will do this by completing three workouts (twelve weeks total) throughout the semester in addition to the coursework inside Edgenuity.
Workouts A and B are three-week routines that I have designed.
Workout C will be a six-week routine that you create and follow, similar to the ones I created, that engages all major muscle groups. (One-week routine for summer semester.)
You can also do twelve weeks of a routine of your choice. I will need you to send it to me with all the necessary information listed (weight used, sets, reps, etc.).
You must complete all three workouts (twelve weeks total) to receive full credit for this portion of the course, which counts for 50% of your final grade. You should plan on about 40 hours to complete this portion of the course. (Students pursuing .25 (quarter) credit, or doing summer school, will only be required to complete workouts A and B.)
Once you complete workout A, email it to me at cmurdock@utahonline.org. You can save a copy of the workouts to your drive or computer and then rename it and send it as an attachment or a Google doc. You can also print it off and take a picture of it with a cell phone or digital camera and then send it to my email.
You'll do the same for workouts B and C.
Example of how to fill out the workouts.
I should be getting completed workout logs every three weeks after your start date for your grade to stay high.
The other 50% of your grade will come from your scores on your tests, quizzes, and assignments inside Edgenuity.
The coursework portion of the course can take anywhere from 3 to 6 hours to complete.
Once you finish everything, if you need some extra credit you can do a final project.
Instructions for the final project can be seen here.
Please email me at cmurdock@utahonline.org if you have any questions or concerns.
I check this email address more frequently than any other.
I will update grades in PowerSchool on Wednesdays. You will be responsible for making sure your grade is where you need it by Tuesday night / Wednesday morning if needed for school sports or so you don't get grounded right before junior prom, etc.
Recap:
Workout C You create and follow a six-week routine (one week for summer) (similar to the ones I created) that engages all major muscle groups and takes between 30 minutes to an hour to complete, with rests periods ranging from 30 seconds to two minutes. Submit it by emailing it to me at cmurdock@utahonline.org.
You can do a Final Project if you need extra credit (up to 1.5%) at the end.
Please email me at cmurdock@utahonline.org if you have any questions or concerns.
You got this!
