National Honor Society, Utah Online School Chapter

To be considered for membership in the National Honor Society (NHS) at Utah Online School, students must be in grades 10–12, have attended the school for at least one semester, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher. Meeting these academic standards qualifies students as candidates, after which they are evaluated based on the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. 

Candidates must also demonstrate a strong commitment to voluntary service, active leadership abilities, and exemplary character.

 The requirements to join NHS at Utah Online School are:

• Maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher

• Participate in 30 hours of unpaid volunteer service throughout the school year that are supervised by an adult. Examples of service activities include, but are not limited to: babysitting, community clean up, service to families/neighbors/others, indexing names online for Family Search, tutoring younger students, writing letters to senior citizens in care homes or deployed military personnel, etc. 

• Exemplify the qualities of leadership and integrity in your conduct and behavior.

• Attend the Virtual Induction Ceremony and 3 other virtual meetings throughout the school year.
