I just started using Canva last year for photo editing and graphic design needs. The application is very easy to learn and very intuitive to use. For the basic types of things we will be doing with photo editing and graphic design, Canva easily meets our needs.
Plus, I discovered I receive access to Canva Pro for free as an educator. Therefore, if I create a class within Canva and invite you as a student, then you also receive access to Canva Pro... How cool is that?
If you enjoy playing around with photography or podcasting and you are ever interested in purchasing equipment for yourself, I would highly recommend buying from B&H Photo. They have one physical store located in New York City, but their online store is superb and they only sell the best quality products. Unfortunately, if you purchase electronics from Amazon, sometimes you might get the real deal and sometimes you might not.
Plus, this site is loaded with posts, blogs, graphics, and links to videos to show you tips and techniques for using any kind of equipment.
When we begin our podcasting unit at school I allow students to learn about podcasts by listening to them in class (provided they have content that is appropriate for school).
For all intents and purposes, Apple Podcasts has pretty much become THE place to find any podcast that is worthwhile. We will use the application in class to research and listen to our favorite podcasts.
Bensound is a great royalty free music site. Royalty free music is music that is by definition not copyrighted, so you are free to download it and use it when you are creating any podcast, video, or other type of project.
There are many other royalty free music sites on the world wide web, but many of them are tricky and want you to sign up for a monthly subscription or pay a small fee for each track you download.
Even though Bensound may not have a HUGE catalog, it is free, easy, and simple to navigate.
