1. Aligning lesson plans was for TEED 4018. I consider it as a scavenger hunt because we needed to look for different core standards to see which one will fit in with the class activity listed in the document. Also, we needed to look for the right educational theory to go with the activity. This required thinking and analyzing to see which one would fit with the activity. I believe I did okay; I could have dedicated more time looking profoundly in the curriculum to find more core standards that would fit with what was being asked for. This document is a good practice for the future when finding core standards for future lesson plans.
2. Hero Lesson Plan, Pre-writing presentation and Expert List are from a demonstration class for the Teaching Writing course. The lesson was on Pre-writing and it was based on the 2.5 Unit "Heroes". The goal was for the students to write a descriptive paragraph of a super or a community hero of their choice. I enjoyed doing this project because it was in the group (a group of four, which would divide into two for each demo class). We became good friends and we put in the effort to make our demo classes (it was two classes) fun and educational. We chose the Unit 2.5 "Heroes" because we thought it was a theme that was fun and perfect for students to write a descriptive paragraph.
My demo class with my partner went well, everyone chose their favorite hero/heroine and did the pre-writing activity. If there is anything I can change from that demo is to find more activities to give to the students because the class was short.
3. "All About Me!" Lesson plan (4th LP) - This lesson plan was a requirement for the course EDPE 3008. My partner and I created a lesson plan that involves the student to complete a graphic organizer about themselves. In the lesson plan, writing and speaking skills are encouraged by the students completing their graphic organizers and for students to present orally their answers in front of the class. There are 2 graphic organizers, one has more questions (read all about me template) and the other one is simpler (all about me ). The simpler one is for students who need differentiated instruction. It was fun creating this lesson plan due to the topic that was assigned to us.
4. "Story Elements" Lesson plan- This lesson plan was used for one of the classes I gave for the Observation hours required for the Seminar Curriculum at the Elementary Level course. After observing an elementary English teacher for 18 hours in a public school, I was given the opportunity of giving 2 classes (completing the 20 hours of the field experience) to two fifth grade groups. The topic was on Story Elements and the story that we read was "The Princess and the Pea" by Hans Christian Andersen. This class was successful and fun for the students because we made it come alive by doing a play of the story. Students were engaged and they all participated. Afterward, students filled out a worksheet by drawing 1 Character from the story, the Setting and a Big event that happened in the story.
5. "Interjections presentation, Interjection worksheet and Lesson Plan"- This compilation of documents was for a mini-lesson required for the Grammar Characteristics of English course. This mini-lesson was done in a group and we were assigned the part of speech Interjections. As a group, we decided to use Unit 2.5 Heroes for the lesson. The theme of the lesson was Superheroes because we thought that it would be fun and appealing for the students. We worked together as a team; we would reunite to discuss and share ideas for the lesson plan, the worksheet, the homework, and the online game. It was a great experience and the mini-lesson was successful. All the objectives were completed and the students (classmates) dominated the material.
