Ben is a junior pursuing an Astronomy and Astrophysics major at the University of Michigan, with a double major in Interdisciplinary Physics. He has done research finding UFD satellite galaxies of Andromeda in the DECaLS survey, and is currently researching candidate dwarves in Hubble data. He is a member of MRover, a model Mars rover project team, focusing on astrobiology and life detection tests. In his free time, Ben sings in the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club, where he is the music librarian.
Jennifer is a senior pursuing a double major in Astronomy & Astrophysics and ID Physics with a Japanese language minor and is currently doing research on detecting Lyman Limit jumps in quasar-quasar pair spectra. This is her second year on the board, being the Advocacy chair last year, and is very excited to continue contributing to SAS as the Vice President! In her spare time, she loves to listen to music, watch Studio Ghibli movies, and talk about sharks.
Third Year
Major: Astronomy and Astrophysics
Raven with her (very cute) cat :)
Raven is a third year Astronomy student currently doing high-energy exoplanet research (and is really into cosmology). She has been a member of SAS since coming to U of M and is excited to use the opportunity of being Treasurer to improve the undergraduate Astronomy community!
Matthew is a rising senior at the University of Michigan pursuing a major in Astronomy and Astrophysics and a minor in Data Science. He is originally from New Jersey and transferred from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is currently doing research on photoionization fronts. Matthew enjoys reading comic books, listening to rock music, and photography
Chris May is a senior studying Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. He has done research in Hall-effect thrusters and is involved with the Bioastronautics and Life Support Systems (BLiSS) project team, where he works on projects related to human space exploration. In his free time, Chris does astrophotography from the Michigan campus as well as from his home in Connecticut.
Shreya Srivathsan is a Dallas native and a first-generation student at the University of Michigan. She's a sophomore and a political science major. She currently serves as the External Outreach Chair for SAS, where she actively promotes multidisciplinary interests and champions diversity. Shreya is deeply passionate about space law and policy, aspiring to pursue a career in this field.
Sarahi is an Astronomy and Astrophysics student at the University of Michigan. She is currently doing research on the vertical composition of exoplanet atmospheres and hopes to go to graduate school for astrobiology. Being the child of immigrants from Latin America, she has always noticed the discrepancies in STEM with DEI and hopes to help others feel less alone in STEM.
