Recent activities:
- Went to Kenya last Thanksgiving. Took 250 toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and kids books to for the Red Rose School ( http://redrosechildren.blogspot.com), started by Ken Okoth's 501c3 foundation (Children of Kibera, http://www.childrenofkibera.org). Reva and I met Ken (http://alumni.georgetown.edu/newsevents/newsevents_229.html), who did his undergrad at St. Lawrence University, through a former employee and scholarship winner—Kate McArdle. She spent a semester in Kenya, which is how I got to know Ken. Ken was just elected as a Member of Parliament in the recent Kenya elections.
- Have a world-class sculptor coming to Eastman on May 1st to do a live presentation on the aging of the face. (See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeoBMqS10rI&feature=player_embedded)
- Going to San Francisco next month to the Maker Faire (a 3D modeling geek fest, http://makerfaire.com) when Reva and I visit a former employee and scholarship recipient that was just hired as the PR Director of Leap Motion. If you don't know about Leap Motion, then check out this video https://www.leapmotion.com This could be huge! And she's getting stock options for joining so early. I tell the residents their kids will all have 3D fabrication "toys."
