Location: 5631 Medical Sciences II, down the hall from the Microbiology and Immunology Department offices.
Hours of operation: 9AM-6PM Monday-Friday
The CLCI staff is on hand to offer assistance during business hours, but trained and authorized users may access the CLCI at any time (please see below)
After Hours Access:
The Center for Live-Cell Imaging may be used 24/7 by trained users that are comfortable with unsupervised use of the instruments they will be using.
However, to access the building after hours, you may need to have your M-card encoded.
Have one of your Department administrative assistants contact Ann Smith (annsmith@umich.edu or x3-3531) at the Depatment of Microboiology and Immunology and ask her for after-hours access to Med Sci II. She will need to know the following:
What?: after-hours access to Med Sci II (Catherine St. entrance).
Why?: to use the Center for Live-Cell Imaging 5631 Med Sci II
How long?: at least one year
For who?: provide your name and UMID #
IMPORTANT: YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO PROVIDE PROOF THAT YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE OSEH TRAINING FOR LABORATORY WORKERS (you can obtain a certificate from UM OSEH if you do not have a copy available).
If necessary, the CLCI administrators can be contacted for confirmation.
Once you have obtained access to the building you can use the combination lock to open the door to the CLCI. Please see a CLCI administrator for the correct passcode.
PLEASE NOTE:
Training is required before ANY use of the equipment in the CLCI. To request new user training or your first consultation, please follow the user registration link, fill out the form and submit it. You may include your specific training or consultation needs in the "Comment" box. You will be contacted by CLCI administrators within 2-4 business days regarding the next available training session (typically held once per week) or to arrange your consultation.
Consultations and equipment/software training are by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Walk-ins are solely at the discretion of the CLCI staff and their fickle moods. You may also contact the CLCI staff via email or telephone (see Contact Us).
The CLCI was primarily created to serve the members of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. However, some funding for the project and the equipment has been provided by the UM Medical School Endowment for Basic Sciences, and thus is open to the greater Medical School community. All work in the CLCI is subject to our recharge rates.
