Engineering Innovation Building (EIB)
Opened July 22, 2019, EIB features labs, classrooms and offices for our entire Chemical Engineering (ChemE) Department, a high-bay structural engineering laboratory for our Civil and Materials Engineering (CME) Department plus lab and office space for our Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MIE) and Computer Science (CS) Departments.
Developed in 2017 by Dewberry with lab design by Research Facilities Design, EIB was originally conceived as an 8000 SF Out-Structure to house COE's growing Student Organizations. The concept evolved into the nearly 58,000 SF inter-disciplinary research facility once it was determined that ChemE had outgrown their off-campus building and needed to enrich their student experience with an on-campus home.
