Outstanding ASQ-UCM Student Organization

The ASQ-UCM Student organization was named the Outstanding Student Branch for the 4th consecutive year by ASQ Region 13. The American Society for Quality (ASQ) is a global quality organization with membership in 130 countries, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The award program began in 2016 and was retired in 2019.
The ASQ-UCM Student organization represents a group of new generation quality students actively involved in promoting leadership abilities and techniques of quality related issues in the industrial and academic world. Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, and other quality tools have been implemented in students’ projects. Student members are graduate students in the Industrial Management (MSIM) and Technology (MST) programs in the School of Technology, College of Health, Science, and Technology, University of Central Missouri.
For the past ten years, students have worked as a team to organize and hold the annual Quality Management Conference at UCM, attend and present research posters at the ASQ World Conference, lead a global book donation project, and other activities. In addition, Chapter members also mentored Warrensburg High School First Robotics Team for 2013 competition in Kansas City.
