A panel consisting of GIS professionals and educators will evaluate all maps using the following rubric.

Total Possible Points = 100
A written description for the project must be included in the Map Details section of your original map. This should include material to address the design, organization, and analysis portion of the evaluation.
Project Design, Organization, and Analysis (65 points)
Introduction (5 points)
Title
Defined Geographic Area
A theme related to Arkansas
Preparation (25 points)
Layers have appropriate explanations (or related metadata)
Source of all data layers is clearly explained (i.e. which are created, which are external; for external sources, attribution is included)
Data planning and preparation challenges are addressed.
Analysis (30 points)
Identify the layer(s) created for the map. What methods were used to create the layer(s)?
Explain how the included downloaded layers enhance the map. This should include the Base Map, any ESRI data layers, or data acquired from an outside source.
Explain how your map presents Arkansas (or part of Arkansas) in a unique way.
Map building challenges are addressed
Conclusions (5 points)
Include a brief summary of your project and what you hope people will find interesting.
Presentation and Style (35 points)
Use of ArcGIS Online (10 points)
Clear presentation of skillful and knowledgeable use of ArcGIS Online.
Quality of Presentation, Web App, or Story Map (25 points)
Topic or theme of the map is clearly displayed and explained
Selected format is well organized
Use of an Original Layer (Required)
All final maps MUST include at least one layer created by the student or group.
