Academic Success Through Health

"School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students.  To that end, school nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self-advocacy and learning."

Adopted by the National Association of School Nurses, June 1999

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

As we start the 23/24 year at GMUHS,  I hope your child is having a great year of academic success through health.   This website has tabs at the top where you can choose a topic for health information, receive updates regarding present health issues, and up-to-date immunization information.  If you have questions, please feel free to call me or your healthcare provider, as I work closely with some of them and the Vermont Department of Health as well.  I can be reached by contacting the Green Mountain Health Office @ (802)875-4154 or you may e-mail me at katrina.boissonnault@trsu.org.

I hope your child has a great school year at Green Mountain Union High School.

Sincerely,

Katrina Boissonnault, RN-MSN
