We do all kinds of activities at centers. Here are just a few.
Workboard:
Students use the workboard to know which activites to do each day.
Pocket Chart:
Students read a poem, break it apart, build it, and then highlight a word family.
Poem:
At poem center students read a poem, find rhyming, word wall words, etc. and then read it to a friend.
ABC:
At ABC center students do a varity of activities to practice reading and writing new word wall words.
1,2,3:
At 1,2,3 center students practice a math skill with games and activities.
Listening:
At listening center students listen and follow along with a book on tape and then answer questions about the book.
Word Study:
At word study center students do a variety of activities and games to practice phonics and word skills.
Writing Center:
At writing center students practice thier writing skill in many different ways.
Math Journal Center:
Students practice math skills that have been taught in an earlier math lesson.
Writing Journal:
Students practice writing in a journal format. They may write from a prompt or do a squiggle writing in which they create something from a squiggle and then write about it.
