Description of the Book: Thirteen-year-old Brian Robeson is on his way to visit his father when the single-engine plane in which he is flying crashes and he finds himself alone in the Canadian wilderness, with nothing but his own ingenuity and the hatchet his mother gave him as a present. Brian must put aside the wrenching pain that has haunted him in the wake of his parents' recent divorce and bring all his energy and knowledge to focus on the task of survival.
