Starting May 7, 2025, anyone flying within the United States will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or another acceptable form of identification (like a passport) to board domestic flights.
If you haven’t upgraded your current license yet, we encourage you to do so soon. Appointments may fill up quickly as the deadline gets closer. Visit your state’s DMV website to check what documents you’ll need and how to apply.
This federal requirement is part of enhanced security measures and applies to all U.S. travelers age 18 and older.
