Seniors

Senior Year is one of the most important and busy years of High School.  It is important to stay on top of important college deadlines to help make your graduation transition smooth.  At the bottom of this page you will find additional subpages with useful information.

Senior Year "To Do" Calendar

September:

It is time to start deciding which schools you are interested in attending.  You need to look online and see how each college wants you to apply for admissions.

Most require you to go to www.applytexas.org

October

After applying for schools you need to come see me and request for your transcripts to be mailed to that school.

Scholarships will also require a transcript, don't forget to stop by and get a copy from my office for each scholarship application!

November

Do you know your colleges application deadlines???  Make sure you submit and request transcripts on time.

It is also time to begin scheduling campus visits.

December

It is time to submit your housing application!  Make sure you know your scholarship application deadlines!!!  Every college if different!

January

One of the MOST IMPORTANT documents to submit:

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)!

Sudan High School will have various times for you and your parents to schedule a time to work with our Financial Aid Representative.

You can also apply online at FAFSA.ed.gov

The sooner you get your application in, the sooner and more likely you will receive Financial Aid!

Check TSI status and register for the THEA unless exempted from TAKS scores.

February

Get an updated “7th semester” transcript if your schools require them.

March

Many scholarships will be due in March and April- watch your deadlines!

In the next couple of months, you’ll receive admissions decisions.

Verify the accuracy of your Student Aid Report (SAR). You should receive this about four weeks after submitting the FAFSA.

April

Continue with scholarships and begin making a final college decision!

May

Make sure your final transcripts are sent to the college you will attend.  You will need to sign up for Final Transcripts to be mailed out in the counselor's office.  If you have taken any Dual Credit courses from SPC, then you will need a final transcript mailed to SPC also.

Be sure you have turned in all your scholarships to Mrs. Harrell so that they will be announced at the awards assembly.

Relax and Enjoy the rest of High School!

Summer

Be aware of freshman orientation dates. If you miss your orientation, you may not be able to register for classes until you attend.
