Joe Youngbauer has been coaching football and teaching at Pleasant Valley since 2007. For the 2007 and 2008 seasons he was an assistant on the freshman football staff. Since the 2009 season he has been an assistant on the varsity staff, working with the defensive secondary and special teams. Youngbauer also teaches American History and American Government at Pleasant Valley High School.Prior to coming to Pleasant Valley he played football at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL from 2003-2006. During that time Augustana won two CCIW Conference Championships ('05 and '06) and earned a berth in the 2005 NCAA Division III National Playoffs. At Augustana Youngbauer was twice named an All-CCIW Linebacker ('05 and '06) and served as a team captain on the 2006 team. Youngbauer is a 2003 graduate of North Scott High School, where he competed in football, basketball and track.
Youngbauer received a B.A. in 2007 from Augustana College in History and Secondary Education and a M.A. in 2012 from Concordia University in Athletic Administration.
Youngbauer and his wife, Shawna, have three daughters, Addelyn, Malia and Kyla.
