Concert Band

CURRENT CLASSWORK & HOMEWORK:

(Posted in our Google Classroom)

Concert Band is the CORE ensemble of the Instrumental Music program, and is made up of students who perform on a woodwind (flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon), brass (trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba), or percussion (drums, xylophone, etc.) instrument. A wide variety of music is explored and performed over the course of the year, and we perform in three major concert events each year in addition to a number of school and community events.

*NEW* for 2022-2023 = Concert Band (Grades 8-12) has been consolidated back to one block (C block)

From 2017-18 through the 2021-22 school years = Concert Band (Grades 8-12) is offered in two different sections; Block D and Block G. This configuration was an "experiment" designed to allow more options in the student schedule for students to access the Instrumental Music program, and to join in membership of our large Performance Ensemble, the CORE of our Instrumental Music Program. Though meeting separately in day-to-day classes/rehearsals, the sections will combine at various points of the Rehearsal-Performance Cycle to work together, and for Dress rehearsals and public performances.
