Concert Band (Grades 8-12) is the CORE ensemble of the Instrumental Music program, and is made up of students who perform on a woodwind (flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon), brass (trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba), or percussion (drums, xylophone, etc.) instrument. A wide variety of music is explored and performed over the course of the year, and perform in three major concert events each year (Winter Concert, HPS 5-12 Band Fest, and Spring Concert), as well as at Graduation. This group also serves as a Pep Band for the home varsity football games and Homecoming and Thanksgiving rallies, and as a Marching Band for Hudson's annual Veterans' Day and Memorial Day parades, as well as at other school and community events.

Jazz Ensemble is an extracurricular ensemble, modeled after classic "Big Band" instrumentation (saxophones, trumpets, trombones, drum-set, piano, electric guitar, and Bass). This group focuses on "swing" style music, but also plays a variety of music in the popular traditions of Jazz, rock, and occasionally pop.
