Our Pastor
Pastor Jerry Fenske
Rev. Jerald Fenske and his wife are long time members of the UCC having been baptized and raised in St. Paul’s UCC in their hometown of Wausau, Wisconsin.
Rev. Fenske graduated from the UCC related Lakeland College near Sheboygan Wisconsin and was then accepted into Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis.
While in St. Louis, Kay also pursued graduate studies at St. Louis University and earned her Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.
After graduation Kay accepted a job in the Twin Cities and they moved to the Minneapolis area where Rev. Fenske completed his Master’s Degree at United Theological Seminary.
Upon graduation he completed a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and then accepted a call to St. Paul’s UCC in Plato, MN just south-west of the metro area.
While at St. Paul’s they celebrated the birth of their two children, Kiersten and Deena. Rev. Fenske served St. Paul’s for 10 years before accepting a call to The Congregational Church of Excelsior, UCC , a western suburb of the Twin Cities on the shores of Lake Minnetonka.
During both of these transitions Kay held her position as a Speech Pathologist in the Columbia Heights School District.
After 21 years of ministry in Minnesota, and upon the graduation of Kiersten from high school, Rev. Fenske accepted our call in the spring of 2010 to be Sr. Pastor of St. Stephen UCC.
Kay is employed as a speech pathologist for North Point Educational Services.
In his free time Rev. Fenske enjoys running and has completed every Paavo Nurmi Marathon in Hurley, WI since he began in 1978.
