  Hello families!
Since we are not hosting our annual Gingerbread House event this year, we are planning on offering an opportunity for you to make one at home. We will supply the frosting, candies and gingerbread house. We will have everything available on December 20 for pick up. Please call the church office before December 18 to let Amanda know how many houses you would like and if you want it preassembled or if you want to build it yourself. If you take pictures of your family decorating your house, please post on Facebook or share with the church office. It will be fun to see what everyone has done! Just another safe way to diminish the feelings of isolation and loss many of our young ones are experiencing. However, anyone can have fun with this, so we are not discriminating by age. Please call today 419 626-1612. We have approximately 30 houses.
To all our church members: Please help us out by donating whatever you can
so our gingerbread houses can reach their full sugar potential! There will be a box in the records room to collect any sweet treats you wish to share. Here are some suggestions:
                small candy canes                    necco wafers
                mini marshmallows                   mini m&m's
mini cookies                              red & green peppermints
                chocolate chips                         skittles
                nerds                                        skinny red licorice
                gum drops                                Dots
                Sweet tarts

St.  Stephen UCC resumed Sunday worship services starting on May 31Church Council members voted to have worshipers adhere to the following protocol for everyone’s safety:

1.       There will be only one (1) service at 9 am. in the main sanctuary.
2.       Everyone wears a mask while in the building.  Please bring your
       own mask.
3.       Practice social distancing by staying six (6) feet apart.
4.       At this time members may select their own place to sit following the 6’
spacing guidelines. Families can sit together. If the ushers see a concern,
they will ask members to leave more space between themselves and
Offering receptacles will be available near the sanctuary entrance.
Offering plates will not be passed during the service.
6.       There will be no printed bulletins.  Liturgy will be on the big screen.
7.       Children need to stay with parents at all times.  It is suggested
that you bring something to keep them occupied as there will be
       no children’s bulletins.
8.       At the conclusion of the service, ushers will dismiss people one
pew at a time.  Please wait for their instructions.
9.       Exit the church immediately after the service.  Please do not
congregate in groups.  This is for everyone’s safety.
10.   Rev. Fenske will be available following the service in the Chapel.

In Addition:

A.      Please do not attend if you are ill or feel vulnerable.
B.      Stay out of any roped off areas as they have been sanitized.
C.      The main restrooms near the sanctuary will be open for use.  The
       others are closed.
D.      There will be no “Greet your neighbor,” Choir, Nursery or Coffee Hour.
        This is for everyone’s protection.
E.      Hand sanitizer will be available if you need it. Please sanitize or wash
your hands before you enter the sanctuary.
F.       Rev. Fenske will continue to offer virtual services during the pandemic
even after we have opened up.

***   Rev. Fenske and Council members have done a great deal of research and have had much discussion about safely opening the church.  Everyone is invited to attend services but no one is required to do so.  We want your experience to be a positive one.  In return, we ask that you take this protocol seriously and adhere to these guidelines.  Anyone unwilling to comply in our attempt to keep everyone safe will receive a blessing and be asked not to enter the building.  Your cooperation will allow St. Stephen to move ahead and maintain it’s strength as a UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST.

We celebrate communion on the 4th Sunday of every  month and on other special days.
